Thinking of you

african-art-street-paintings

Just a short note to say that we are thinking of you. We hope that you and your loved ones are safe and healthy and finding ways to cope during these tumultuous times.

The gallery is closed until further notice, but we remain available by email and phone. Our next exhibit, planned for early May, is postponed. In the meantime, please visit the gallery online. New artists and artworks continue to grace it periodically.

We are in constant communication with our artist partners and are happy to report that they are in good health and good spirits in spite of the challenges facing them.

Flashback, Flashforward

Earlier this year, we delved into the vibrant artistic scene of Benin, Ghana and Togo. There, we also viewed the recently opened Palais de Lomé, Togo’s first major art and culture center.

We marveled at the diversity, originality and complexity of contemporary art in this part of the world and invite you to take a glimpse at what we saw:

Beauty in Music

In our sky, among the stars…Manu Dibango - musician, songwriter, saxophonist. While lost to the pandemic, he will be forever among us. Enjoy his beautiful music with the album Soul Makossa, a testament to the power of creation, endless imagination, resilience and hope.

Thank you for being part of the African Art Beats community!
